Urban Planning & Design

“Applying urban planning and design principles to the delivery of comprehensive veterans, veteran families, and children’s services in a created place.”

The quality of the environment (built or otherwise) in which we live has a significant impact on our daily lives. Modern innovation and thoughtful urban design contributes to our community, our cities, our economy, environment and improves the stability and security of families in our communities. Our unique approach to urban design and development helps our businesses thrive, fosters job growth and attracts people to visit, live and work in such an enhanced environment.

Appropriate urban planning and design considers the landscape, encourages biodiversity and incorporates natural ecosystems. It has an important influence on our physical and mental health and our overall well-being. It provides opportunities for healthy lifestyles and community interaction and acceptance.

CCFI is committed to reach beyond our limits and create a lasting and sustainable environment where our veterans, their families, disadvantaged children and communities can and will receive the finest care.

The integration of these services into an authentic community environment is critical to the success of the care the total population receives and the accelerates their recovery. It is our desire to provide skills-training and comprehensive jobs-training programs based on the current and future demand for skilled labor in growing market sectors. We are encouraging manufacturing and distribution facilities to locate within the appropriate context of our communities to provide some of those employment opportunities.

Urban design occurs in all parts of a growing city from the urban core to isolated neighborhoods and rural areas of our communities. Whether it is creating a public transportation system, an infrastructure network, an urban core, a mixed use medical service environment, a specialty shopping district or a hospital and research facility – are all the end result of planning and urban design.

The quality of the planning and urban design becomes even more critical as we increase the intensity and density of the urban core. We recognize and plan for a changing demographic and adapt and grow through application of sound planning and urban design principals in the newly created environment.

When CCFI delivers a completed component of this created environment this will not be the end of a project; but the beginning of a long-term process as the system continues to evolve. As we begin to layer the infrastructure, add building elements and incorporate personal and professional services for our veterans, their families and their community, the identity and culture of the community takes shape and thrives in this newly created environment.

Our success will be measured by the generations that follow from the seeds we plant today!
